Workers’ Comp Mileage Reimbursement 2022: The Rates To Rise From July!

 Workers’ Comp Mileage Reimbursement 2022 : Workers who have suffered injuries, we have some good news for you! According to the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) in California, the mileage rate used to establish payment for medical and medical-legal travel expenses will increase. This change will take effect on January 1, 2019.

The fee will increase by 4 cents to 62.5 cents per mile. It will be required to be paid for travel on or after July 1, 2022, regardless of when the injury occurred. The increase will take effect immediately.

Government Code Section 19820 & Labor Code Section 4600

Section 4600 of the Labor Code was in charge of determining the amount of workers’ comp mileage reimbursement due for medical expenditures and medical-legal fees. In addition, it was also dependent on Government Code Section 19820 and the California Department of Human Resources regulations. Furthermore, it establishes a link with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
